Attention Scouting Moms & Dads!
We are very excited to announce new glass craft classes and workshops designed for a group activity with children.
Our first new workshop is ‘Kid Style Fusing’. This workshop is designed to not only be fun for your group of kids but also allow the children to learn how glass is melted together in a kiln. In this workshop we will give a brief, kid friendly, explanation of what fusing glass is and how it works. Each child will get to decorate a pre-cut fusible clear shape that will be fired in our kilns for pickup about a week later. The children will get to pick between a magnet or a hanger to display their creation on the family refrigerator or to hang in a window.
Safety
Our Kidz classes and workshops are designed to be kid friendly. We will be using pre-cut clear shapes in the Kidz Style Fusing workshop for decorating. Our pre-cut shapes have ground edges for safety. We use non-toxic lead free glass paint and small round glass balls for children ages 5 – 8. In addition, for children older than 8 years, we have glass frit, noodles and stringers.
Workshop Theme
We have an extensive selection of precut blanks for you to choose from for your workshop. They range from hearts, stars, to pumkins and Christmas shapes. All shapes are approximately 2 1/2″ to 3″ in size.
Workshop Cost
The Kidz Style Fusing workshop is an hour in length and cost $6.00 per child with a minimum of 8 children. Each child will decorate one precut shape. Additional shapes can be purchased for $5.00 each.
Workshop Location
Workshops will be held at The Glass Galleria studio or if you would like to have a workshop at another location we charge an additional $45 per workshop. Workshops are not pre-scheduled so we can usually accommodate your request for a specific date and time. Note: If your workshop will be held as a scout meeting feel free to hold your meeting at the studio and bring in refreshments for the scouts.
